I like to look for interesting books on Christianity.
A great book that actually makes you think. We have an opportunity to do great things for God in the Church and in the secular world. No matter what our circumsatnces are...I have highlighted practically the entire book! Would recommend to anyone. I can tell you this was a timely read as I was preparing to give a message about giving your lives to Jesus. I wasn't presenting the full cost. Now, I will. I don't want fans of Jesus. I want followers.
He could have simply said that works are a manifestation of your faith and salvation, and not a precursor to it. Faith happens first, salvation immediately follows, then works is evidence of the faith. It is devoid of the discussion of grace until midway through the book.
It made me think about the love Jesus demonstrated and how we are called to do the same. Judge less love more.
A must read! It's a great eye opener for those of us who have unintentionally been living in a bubble. It, along with God's Word, have certainly motivated me to make changes in my life.
If you are looking for something different, look no further than Night of the Living Dead Christian. It will teach you a lot about Christianity and a lot about yourself.
